Zimabwean "Delicious Rub"



Yield: Makes about 2 cups

Ingredients:

1/2 cup paprika
1/4 cup kosher salt, finely ground
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons mustard powder
1/4 cup chili powder (lower if you don't like spiciness)
1/4 cup ground cumin
2 tablespoons ground black pepper (lower if you don't like spiciness)
1/4 cup granulated garlic
2 tablespoons cayenne

Preparation:

Mix all ingredients and store in a tightly covered container. You'll want to keep some in a shaker next to the grill or stove. Keeps indefinitely but won't last long.

The other day he asked me how they made money to buy their things.  It led to a long discussion about where we get our money from (Daddy working) and consequently Jonas asked, "How would we make money without Daddy?  What would we do without Daddy?!"   His eyes got wide. Before I could answer Jonas went on.  "Well... we'd probably have to have Daddy pass his ipad through the mailbox to us so we could get our recipes for side dishes and that delicious rub we put on meat."
